Fernanda Jimena Carregado ,
Biography
Born in Argentina in 1977, Fernanda J. Carregado is a multidisciplinary artist who has dedicated her life to exploring and expressing her passion for the visual arts. Over more than two decades of experience, she has enriched her experience as a sculptor, textile designer, ceramist, and milliner, becoming a true aesthete. Her interest in art was sparked at an early age, pursuing design studies in her native country and venturing into areas such as architecture, interior design, fashion, and visual design. Her curious spirit and desire to learn have led her to self-taught research, incorporating new techniques into her artistic practice.
Since 2000, Fernanda has made her home and studio in Málaga, where she has founded two Spanish brands: Shapó Olé and Alfarera Loca. In 2017, she opened a studio in San Pedro Alcántara, where she shares her knowledge through workshops in ceramics, embroidery, and various artistic techniques, fostering creativity and personal expression in her participants.
Artistic Work
Fernanda Carregado's work is distinguished by its profound connection with nature and the human experience. Her approach is based on the exploration of mixed media, through which she seeks to capture unique moments that reflect the essence of life. Each piece of ceramics and art she creates is an emotional journey, a conversation between the everyday and the sublime, full of honesty and authenticity.
Throughout her career, she has consistently worked in the fields of design and art, continually exploring new forms of expression. Drawn to millinery, she took various courses to specialize in this technique, recognizing hat making as an artistic act comparable to sculpture. This discovery has informed her artistic narrative and continues to permeate her work.
Social Commitment
Fernanda is also the creator of the artistic and philanthropic platform "October 19, 19 Artists," an initiative aimed at helping people suffering from breast cancer. Convinced that artists have a responsibility to contribute to society through their communication skills, she has used her work as a means to raise awareness and support for this cause.
Through her art, Fernanda J. Carregado not only teaches techniques and skills, but also inspires generations to find their unique voice and connect with the world around them. Her work is a reflection of her passion, commitment, and the beauty she seeks to capture in each of her creations. She also uses art as a veil to reveal and express her deepest emotions and experiences.
